Join Tuning the Student Mind founders, author Molly Beauregard and filmmaker Chelsea Jackson, for this transformative series exploring the power of awareness—where practices such as meditation and yoga meet everyday life.
In season one, Chelsea, a first-year instructor at the University of Colorado, seeks advice from her mentor Molly, Co-director of the Program of Creativity and Consciousness at the University of Michigan, on how best to reach her students. In season two, you'll meet inspiring individuals passionate about creating spaces of connection and inclusivity within the education landscape.
As the series unfolds, Before Thought expands these conversations beyond the classroom, inviting listeners to explore what happens when we meet life before the noise.
Our discussions are rooted in connection and curiosity, and together we explore how dropping into awareness can soften figure-it-out energy, awaken creativity, and allow life to unfold organically.
Step in, pause with us, and discover how life feels when you meet it from the space before thought.

Molly, a seasoned educator with over 20 years of teaching experience, has dedicated her career to integrating meditation and self-awareness into the classroom. She believes that true learning begins with inner transformation and has inspired countless students to cultivate purpose and connection in their lives. Chelsea, Molly’s former student and mentee, carries forward this vision with curiosity, insight, and a willingness to challenge traditional approaches. As an award–winning documentary director and editor, Chelsea brings a creative sensibility and fresh perspective to their collaboration. Molly is also an accomplished author and their friendship has evolved over years of shared work and learning together.
Moms and longtime friends, they have learned as much about themselves through family, community and collaboration as they have through their professional work. They share a love of life and a belief that practice—yoga, meditation, and mindfulness—is the foundation of how they move through the world.
Together, Molly and Chelsea explore how tuning inward through meditation, reflection, and personal inquiry can transform everyday life, showing how consistent practice not only enriches creative and professional endeavors, but also deepens the way we live, parent, and relate to one another.
Tuning the Student Mind
The Tuning the Student Mind film and book explore the transformative power of meditation in education, challenging us to rethink teaching practices in a way that engages the whole student. What if learning integrated silence and self-inquiry alongside empirical analysis? How might education evolve if we nurtured both intellect and inner awareness? Following students as they incorporate meditation into their academic and personal lives, Tuning the Student Mind suggests that in an era driven by external exploration, the next great adventure may lie within—an exploration of consciousness that deepens learning, fosters personal growth, and redefines the classroom experience.
